CROSCARMELLOSE SODIUM, NF is an internally crosslinked sodium carboxymethylcellulose. Croscarmellose Sodium, NF is used commonly as a FDA-approved disintegrant in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The cross linking minimizes its solubility in water while allowing it to absorb many times its weight in water like a sponge.

The NF grade indicates it is graded suitable for personal care, cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications. These are manufactured, packaged and stored under current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) per 21CFR part 211 in FDA registered and inspected facilities.
