Description: Myosin phosphatase target subunit 1, which is also called the myosin-binding subunit of myosin phosphatase, is one of the subunits of myosin phosphatase. Myosin phosphatase regulates the interaction of actin and myosin downstream of the guanosine triphosphatase Rho. The small guanosine triphosphatase Rho is implicated in myosin light chain (MLC) phosphorylation, which results in contraction of smooth muscle and interaction of actin and myosin in nonmuscle cells. The guanosine triphosphate(GTP)-bound, active form of RhoA (GTP.RhoA) specifically interacted with the myosin-binding subunit (MBS) of myosin phosphatase, which regulates the extent of phosphorylation of MLC. Rho-associated kinase (Rho-kinase), which is activated by GTP. RhoA, phosphorylated MBS and consequently inactivated myosin phosphatase. Overexpression of RhoA or activated RhoA in NIH 3T3 cells increased phosphorylation of MBS and MLC. Thus, Rho appears to inhibit myosin phosphatase through the action of Rho-kinase. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq].

Supplier: Bioss
Description: hnRNP F is part of the subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). These are RNA binding proteins that complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA) and appear to influence pre-mRNA processing and other aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. hnRNP F binds to RNAs which have guanosine-rich sequences.

Description: Guanylyltransferase enzymes transfer one molecule of GTP to another molecule and also function in the transfer of guanosine nucleotides to sugar molecules. The carbohydrate moieties that are generated are covalently attached to cell surfaces and are necessary to ensure a surface contour that satisfies a variety of physiological roles. L-fucose is an important sugar in complex carbohydrates that is frequently found on plant and mammalian N-linked glycans. FPGT (Fucose-1-phosphate guanylyltransferase), also known as GFPP (GDP-L-fucose pyrophosphorylase), is a 594 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that catalyzes the formation of GDP-L-fucose from L-fucose-1-phosphate and GTP. FPGT functions to reutilize the L-fucose that is produced uopn glycoprotein and glycolipid turnover.

Supplier: Bioss
Description: The protein encoded by this gene is a transferase, which catalyzes conversion of hypoxanthine to inosine monophosphate and guanine to guanosine monophosphate via transfer of the 5-phosphoribosyl group from 5-phosphoribosyl 1-pyrophosphate. This enzyme plays a central role in the generation of purine nucleotides through the purine salvage pathway. Mutations in this gene result in Lesch-Nyhan syndrome or gout.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009].
