Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-5523R-A680)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Required for organisation of the cellular microtubule array and microtubule anchoring at the centrosome. May regulate microtubule organisation at least in part by targeting the microtubule severing protein KATNA1 to the centrosome. Also positively regulates the activity of the minus-end directed microtubule motor protein dynein. May enhance dynein-mediated microtubule sliding by targeting dynein to the microtubule plus ends. Required for several dynein- and microtubule-dependent processes such as the maintenance of Golgi integrity, the centripetal motion of secretory vesicles and the coupling of the nucleus and centrosome. Also required during brain development for the migration of newly formed neurons from the ventricular/subventricular zone toward the cortical plate. Plays a role, together with DISC1, in the regulation of neurite outgrowth. Required for mitosis in some cell types but appears to be dispensible for mitosis in cortical neuronal progenitors, which instead requires NDE1. Facilitates the polymerization of neurofilaments from the individual subunits NEFH and NEFL.

Description: Mica, Water Ground, 325 Mesh is a wet-ground mica, a type of highly brittle silicate minerals with diverse chemical composition, that retains the brilliancy of its cleavage faces. It is used in cosmetic and personal care products as a colorant with opacifying properties. Its reflective and refractive properties make mica an important ingredient in makeup, moisturising lotions, toothpastes, and nail polish. It appears as a clear, lustrous, crystalline solid plates and is insoluble in cold water.

Description: CTTNBL1 Antibody: The Beta-catenin-like protein 1 (CTNNBL1) contains an acidic domain, a putative bipartite nuclear localization signal, a nuclear export signal, a leucine-isoleucine zipper, and phosphorylation motifs, as well as Armadillo/beta-catenin-like repeats. Transient expression of CTNNBL1 resulted in translocation to the nucleus and apoptosis, suggesting it may be involved in the apoptotic pathway. CTNNBL1 interacts with the Prp19 complex of the spliceosome and the Ig class switching enzyme activation-induced deaminase (AID) and had been suggested to play a role in antibody-diversification and class switching, but recent studies have shown CTNNBL1 to be dispensable for Ig class switch recombination. Other studies have identified CTTNBL1 as a novel gene for obesity.

Description: Akirin1 Antibody: The highly conserved, nuclear-localized Akirin1 and Akirin2 proteins critically regulate the transcription of NF-kappa B-dependent genes and are required for defense against Gram-negative bacteria in the immune deficiency and NF-kappa B pathways. Akirin1 is dispensable in the mouse, and neither knockout mice nor cells derived from them have obvious distinctive phenotypes. In contrast, Akirin2 is required for development in the mouse and knockout of both Akirin homologs in mice show that Akirin2 is required downstream of toll-like receptor (TLR), TNF-alpha and IL-1 beta signaling, and for the production of IL-6. Akirin2 is functionally closer to the single gene in Drosophila, as the homozygous null D. melanogaster Akirin mutants show a similar, mid-to-early embryonic death.

Description: Nanos3 Antibody: Nanos is a zinc-finger containing, RNA-binding protein that has been implicated in germ cell development in both invertebrates and vertebrates. In Drosophila, Nanos represses apoptosis during development to ensure proper germ-line development. Unlike Nanos1 whose expression in mice is dispensable, the Nanos2 and Nanos3 proteins are required for germ cell development. Nanos2-null primordial germ cells (PGCs) die only in the male gonads and show no defects in females, while Nanos3-null PGCs are lost during the migration stage regardless of sex. Nanos2 and Nanos3 have distinct expression patterns during embryo development, suggesting that these two proteins do not have redundant functions. However, expression of Nanos2 can at least partially replace Nanos3 function in a Nanos3-null background. Nanos3 expression can not rescue Nanos2-null defects.

Description: ACVR1C Antibody: Activins are dimeric growth and differentiation factors which belong to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. Activins signal through a heteromeric complex of receptor serine kinases which include at least two type I and two type II receptors. ACVR1C, also known as ALK7, is a type I activin receptor and plays a role in cell differentiation, growth arrest and apoptosis. ACVR1C can mediate signaling by ligans such as Nodal, GDF-1/3, activin B and activin AB, all of which can also signal through the ubiquitous activin type I receptor ACVR1B (also known as ALK4). ACVR1C is a novel marker specifically expressed during the late phase of adipocyte differentiation. ACVR1C is dispensable for mouse embryogenesis, which suggests alternative functions for this receptor in postnatal development and tissue homeostasis. ACVR1C plays an important role in regulating the functional plasticity of pancreatic islets, negatively affecting beta-cell function by mediating the effects of activin B on Ca2+ signaling.
