Description: Sodium chloride is a commonly used chemical which is found widely in nature. It is considered to be an essential nutrient. Excess amounts of sodium chloride can destroy electrolyte balance and cause death in most animals, including humans.
Sodium chloride is used in a wide variety of biochemical applications, including intravenous fluids (normal saline is 0.9% w/v in water 10), density gradients 3,6, a diluent to increase ionic strength in buffers or culture media and in salt-out procedures in the isolation of DNA. It has also been used in high concentrations for preservation of foods since bacteria cannot grow in high salt conditions. A salt-ice mixture in the ratio of approximately 33 g sodium chloride to 100 g ice (at -1°C) will drop in temperature to as low as -21°C, depending on the rate of stirring and the size of the ice chunks.

Description: The PolyStainer is used for staining sample material on slides. Usual staining methods include gram staining or May Grünwald staining. However, any other staining methods can be used in the 10 program slots available. Up to 20 slides can be processed as a set in a maximum of four staining solutions. The tanks for the staining solutions are interchangeable and are supplied with a cover. One reservoir has a volume of 450 ml. The periods of time during which the samples are to remain moving or resting in the staining solution, as well as the drip time over the tank, are freely programmable. The integrated water bath is used to rinse the samples. The rinsing time, and when fresh water is to be added, can also be programmed. The slides are dried in a hot air chamber located next to the water bath.

Description: Ultra-low temperature refrigerated circulators for heating and cooling. The units are suitable for external temperature applications with simultaneous operation in the bath tank. The units provide particularly high heating and cooling capacities for rapid heating and cooling times even for large volume, external systems. FP models offer proportional cooling control to ensure energy saving performance and to reduce heat generation to the environment. Models with the designation W are water cooled. All models have handles and castors which allow easy transportation and drain ports for conveniently draining the bath fluid. The units offer an improved insulation to prevent ice formation and have a filling level display. Typical applications: Temperature control of jacketed reaction vessels, autoclaves, mini plant installations, kilo labs, freezing point determination, calibration at low temperatures and petroleum testing.

Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate is a reagent used in the manufacturing of iron compounds, in electroplating baths, aluminium etching, process engraving and lithography, and in redox polymerisation. It is used as a reducing agent in chemical processes, leather dyes and writing inks. Also, it is a component of weed killers, wood preservatives and water treatment processes. Used In prevention of chlorosis in plants and therapeutically as hematinic. In veterinary medicine, it is used as an astringent to combat iron deficiency. Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate is used in the determination of phosphorus as per the method of Taussky and Shorr. Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate is used in cell culture applications generally bound to transferrin, citrate or other iron transport molecules.
